About Osceola Ranch

The National Turkey Federation designates an Osceola wild turkey as a bird found south of a line drawn across Florida between Nassau and Duval counties on the east and Taylor and Dixie counties on the west coast.  Osceola Ranch is located approximately 5 miles south of the beautiful Suwanee river in Levy County.  The colorful community of Cedar Keys is a few miles to our west.  Visitors enjoy fresh fish, clams and oysters in Cedar Key's many eateries.

The Osceola Ranch turkey habitat improvement project is the result of energetic participation of the property owners, David and Meredith.  They are stewards of the land, preserving hardwood forest, cypress stands and wet lands.  The 600 acres is family owned and operated and is surrounded by thousands of acres of  conservation easement.

Acreage is planted in slash and native long leaf (yellow pine), pastures lined by Persimmons, Lezpadza, Carolina Jasmine, Scrub and Live Oaks.  Regular mowing, disking and proscribed burning is also an essential part of our wild life program.  Year round feeding of game through food plots and supplemental feeding keeps a large population of game healthy and abundant.
